Hi, I'm Harris.

I grew up in the Greek countryside, in a family of farmers, and my favourite room in the house was always the kitchen. I spent hours there helping my mother — and experimenting whenever nobody was looking. Growing up next to the fields, I learned early how much work goes into every vegetable, and it still bothers me to see good food go to waste. Later came culinary school, then Switzerland, where I've been a professional chef since.

For years now I've been teaching hobby cooks in person, side by side at the stove. Not professionals — people who want a Tuesday dinner that tastes like something. I rarely follow a recipe exactly as it's written. I cook by feel: I look, I listen, I taste, and I change things as I go. That's how I teach too — lots of swaps, vegetarian and vegan versions, and the freedom to make a dish your own.

Most of all, I explain the why. If you don't know why a step works, you can only get it right by accident. Once you know the why, you can do it on purpose, every time — and change it when your fridge says otherwise. Soggy stir-fry, onions that never brown, meat that sticks to the pan: almost always, a missing why. That's what I teach, in person and now in the app: what actually happened in the pan, why, and what to do next time.

Chef Harris, the app, is me in your kitchen when I can't be there — same teaching, same tone. My hope is simple: that you learn to trust yourself, cook more by feel, and enjoy it.
